The Information Technology Programme at TRIO equips students with the knowledge, skills, and digital tools needed to explore, innovate, and thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
By integrating technology across the curriculum, students develop the ability to connect ideas from diverse disciplines, foster creativity, and solve real-world problems in innovative and unprecedented ways. The programme encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning, empowering students to become confident and responsible digital citizens.
Technology at PYP is woven into learning with purpose. Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a tool that deepens inquiry, sparks creativity, and builds collaboration and communication, rather than an end in itself. This reflects the IB PYP belief that meaningful learning comes first, and technology serves it. In Early Years to grade 3, learners begin their technology journey in a dedicated learning space, where teachers thoughtfully integrate digital tools into units of inquiry. Students use technology to research, create presentations, produce digital stories, and explore multimedia, building foundational skills, curiosity, and responsible digital habits along the way.
In Grade 4 and 5, each learner has access to their own personal device, allowing technology to become a natural, everyday part of the learning experience. Learners use their devices as tools for inquiry, documentation, reflection, collaboration, and creative expression, working across a range of productivity and creative applications alongside carefully selected educational tools. As students' progress, they take on greater ownership of how they learn, investigate, and communicate their understanding, strengthening both digital fluency and learner agency, key outcomes of the PYP journey.
Our Middle School programme goes beyond using technology—it develops creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and responsible digital citizenship.
Students build strong Digital Literacy through communication, information evaluation, content creation, collaboration, media literacy, online safety and responsible use of digital and AI technologies.
Through Cambridge Lower Secondary Computing, students explore algorithms, programming, data, databases, networks, cybersecurity, computer systems, automation and AI while developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills. Students progress to Python and Physical Computing, connecting programming with real-world systems through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving. They explore data, networks, encryption and cybersecurity, understanding how information is stored, communicated and protected.
Our AI & Machine Learning programme takes students from understanding how AI learns from data to training models, exploring classification, bias and Model Cards, and building AI-powered applications through the journey:
Ethics remains central as students consider fairness, bias, accessibility and AI’s impact on society, learning to question, evaluate, create with and use AI responsibly.
Through this progression, students become confident digital citizens, computational thinkers, creative problem-solvers and responsible technology creators, ready for an AI-enabled future.
We are deeply committed to cultivating the next generation of digital pioneers and technology leaders. By bridging world-class academic frameworks with professional-tier experiences, we empower our Grade 9–12 student community with the foundational skills, strategic vision, and technical agility required to excel in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Our department delivers an advanced, dual-pathway curriculum seamlessly mapped to the global benchmarks of Cambridge IGCSE ICT (0417) and Computer Science (0478), culminating in the highly demanding International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Computer Science framework. Under our expert instruction, students' progress beyond fundamental literacy to master complex theoretical systems design, sophisticated algorithmic logic, and predictive data modeling.
To ensure complete transparency and academic excellence, our institution leverages ManageBac as our central Learning Management System. This specialized platform serves as a vital bridge for our school community, enabling precise, real-world tracking of student progress, assessment portfolios, and academic milestones. By providing parents with direct, real-time insights into their child's learning journey, ManageBac fosters a powerful three-way partnership between students, educators, and families—ensuring a unified support system for our future technology leaders.
We proactively expand our students' academic horizons by spearheading elite technical workshops and high-velocity interschool hackathons. Utilizing enterprise-grade version-control platforms and development environments, our students collaborate to solve high-stakes, real-world software engineering challenges. These institutional initiatives do more than reinforce classroom theory; they instill a culture of collaborative systems analysis, rapid prototyping, and decisive problem-solving.
