As an Apple Distinguished School, we believe technology is most powerful when it is purposeful when it enables learners to create, explore, collaborate, and share their thinking in ways that deepen learning.
Our technology journey is intentionally designed to grow with our learners, providing age-appropriate opportunities and gradually increasing independence and ownership.
In Grades 1 to 3, learners access our Mac Lab as part of their learning experiences. Teachers thoughtfully integrate iPad & Mac technology into units of inquiry, allowing students to explore digital tools while developing foundational technology skills.
Learners use technology to research, create presentations, produce digital stories, explore multimedia, collaborate on projects, and communicate their understanding. The focus at this stage is on building confidence, curiosity, and responsible digital habits while ensuring that technology remains purposeful and connected to the curriculum.
From Grade 4 onwards, every learner has access to their own iPad, enabling technology to become a more seamless part of the learning experience.
Learners use iPads as tools for inquiry, documentation, reflection, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Native Apple applications such as Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Freeform, iMovie, GarageBand are integrated into learning experiences, alongside carefully selected educational applications.
Students increasingly make choices about how they learn, how they demonstrate their understanding, and how they communicate their ideas, strengthening both digital fluency and learner agency.
From Grade 6 onwards, learners carry their iPads daily, allowing technology to become an integral part of their learning journey across subjects and learning environments.
Students use their devices to research, collaborate, create, organize, reflect, communicate, and access learning resources. Technology supports interdisciplinary learning, project-based learning, presentations, multimedia production, and authentic opportunities to share learning with a wider audience.
As learners progress through Middle School, they are encouraged to become increasingly independent, responsible, and discerning digital learners, making purposeful choices about the tools and platforms they use.
Technology at Trio is embedded within our broader educational vision. Teachers continuously explore innovative ways to leverage Apple tools to enrich the curriculum, support diverse learning needs, provide opportunities for creative expression, and make learning more visible.
