Languages Beyond the Classroom

At Trio World Academy, languages come alive beyond the classroom. Students participate in cultural celebrations, competitions, language events, creative performances and collaborative projects that allow them to use their language skills in authentic contexts.

These experiences help students understand that learning a language is not simply about passing an examination—it is about connecting with people, appreciating cultures and communicating across boundaries.

Our World Languages programme aims to develop confident communicators, curious learners and culturally aware global citizens, equipping students with skills that extend far beyond the language classroom.

DELF Examinations

Every year, students at Trio World Academy are encouraged to take the DELF examination according to their level of French proficiency. Their outstanding results are a reflection of their dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning, complemented by the guidance and academic support provided by their teachers.

The DELF examination gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their French language skills against internationally recognised standards and celebrate their progress. We are immensely proud of our students for this remarkable achievement and congratulate them wholeheartedly on their success. Their accomplishment is a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence in language learning.

French Competitions

Every year, the World Languages Department at Trio World Academy provides students with exciting opportunities to celebrate and strengthen their French language skills through a range of competitions.

From French Word Power and the Concours Romain Rolland to the French Olympiad and French Spell Bee, these platforms encourage students to challenge themselves, build confidence, and deepen their appreciation of the language. Each year, one competition is selected to promote active participation and encourage students to progress in their French learning journey. These enriching experiences foster healthy competition, inspire a love for languages, and motivate students to strive for excellence.

Café Plume

Grade 10 French students visited a boulangerie-pâtisserie in Indiranagar run by a native French entrepreneur. The visit offered students an authentic, hands-on language experience as they interacted with the entrepreneur entirely in French.

While learning about French culinary traditions, students actively participated in preparing cookies and enjoyed tasting a variety of French mignardises, making the visit both educational and culturally enriching.

Concours de la dictée

On the occasion of Francophonie 2026, our secondary students participated in a dictation competition organized in collaboration with the French Embassy and the French Institute in India. The dictation was based on excerpts from the book Le Petit Prince, which is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its publication.

The activity was conducted at two levels—beginner and intermediate—and proved to be both engaging and enriching. Students enjoyed applying the nuances of the French language while listening to the dictation delivered by a native French speaker.

Trip to France – March 2024

Students from grades 9 to 11 embarked upon a journey to Paris, the French capital. This 10-day trip opened up new horizons to the learning of the French language and culture. Students got to stay with French families where they learnt in-depth about the French culture and spoke only in French, thus, immersing themselves in the French language. Their progression in French increased by leaps and bounds.

Students got an opportunity to visit all the important museums and monuments in Paris. The authentic French cuisine was a delight to their taste-buds. Shopping at the avenue of Champs-Elysées, a nice long promenade on the banks of the river Seine, Disney land, an evening on the top of the Eiffel Tower, were some of the memories that will always be imbedded in their hearts.

Trip to Spain

In March 2024, students from Trio World Academy embarked on a memorable 10-day Spanish language immersion programme in Madrid, Spain. Staying with local host families, they enhanced their language skills through daily Spanish classes while gaining first-hand exposure to the country’s rich culture, cuisine, and traditions.

A highlight of the experience was the lively Gincana at Madrid’s picturesque Retiro Park, where students collaborated in teams to solve challenges and complete tasks. Cultural immersion continued through hands-on culinary workshops, where students learned to prepare iconic Spanish dishes such as paella and tortilla. An unforgettable visit to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium offered students a glimpse into the illustrious history of Real Madrid. Between classes, students explored Madrid’s vibrant streets, relaxing in charming cafés, creating the perfect balance between academic learning and authentic cultural discovery.
