TRIO World Academy Team Triumphs at National AI Hackathon with ‘Jyothi’ – Empowering Rural Women’s Healthcare

After eight months of rigorous effort and dedication, a team of four Grade 11 students from TRIO World Academy at Bangalore, Navika, Apeksha, Urvi, and Pranav, achieved an outstanding milestone by reaching the finale of Masters’ Union’s National AI Hackathon. Competing against over 5,000 participants nationwide, the team secured a place among the Top 15 finalists and went on to win the prestigious People’s Choice Award, along with a cash prize of ₹25,000.

As part of the final round, the team travelled to the Masters’ Union campus in Gurgaon, where they received mentorship from industry experts in business and technology. This invaluable experience helped them refine their innovation and present their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges.

Their project, Jyothi, is an AI-powered application designed to address the critical gap in access to quality feminine healthcare for rural women in India. The app offers a range of thoughtful features, including multilingual support, a symptom-checking chatbot that provides personalized health guidance, and an educational video library focused on menstrual health awareness. Additionally, Jyothi includes a free tele-consultation service made possible through a network of volunteer doctors. Importantly, the platform is optimized to function effectively in low-connectivity areas, ensuring accessibility for underserved communities.

This remarkable achievement reflects not only the team’s technical skill but also their commitment to creating meaningful social impact. TRIO World Academy takes immense pride in their perseverance, innovation, and dedication to addressing real-world challenges. The school community eagerly looks forward to witnessing how this inspiring journey shapes their future endeavours.
