The 2027-28 academic year marks a defining milestone in TRIO’s history: TRIO turns 20.

TRIO began in 2007 with an aspiration to build a world-class centre of learning in the heart of Bengaluru. It has evolved into a vibrant, multifaceted global learning community. As we prepare to commemorate two decades of growth in 2027, we are diving into a year of reflection, storytelling and celebration. Over the upcoming months, we invite you to join us as we look back at the people, milestones and values that have brought us to where we are today.

Humble beginnings

TRIO’s journey started with the establishment of our international school. From the first day onwards, our vision was to deliver an authentic international education that prepares young learners for an increasingly interconnected world without disconnecting them from cultural values.

Our commitment to rigorous global frameworks laid the groundwork for becoming an authorised IB World School. We received formal authorisation for the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) and IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Since then, we continue to implement progressive spaces where curiosity, collaboration, and inquiry could flourish naturally.

The birth of the ICSE wing (2015)

As the TRIO community grew, so did our conviction that excellence in education must cater to diverse learning needs and pathways. In 2015, we launched our ICSE school.

Introducing the national curriculum allowed us to extend TRIO’s philosophy combining strong academic fundamentals with character building, empathy, and creative exploration to an even broader student community. Over the last decade, our ICSE campus has evolved into an engine of innovation. From home-grown initiatives like our Global Citizenship programme, spanning AI, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, to several student-led initiatives, social entrepreneurship projects, and grassroots community outreach at the Kodigehalli Government School.

A home to 55+ nationalities over the years

TRIO’s evolution has been purely organic, driven by the evolving needs of our students, families and educators.

Diversity is woven into our daily school life. Over the past nineteen years, our campuses have welcomed students from more than 55 countries and nurtured them. TRIO has partnered with the Japanese Supplementary School (JSS), earned the ‘Institution of Happiness’ recognition and become an Apple Distinguished School among other distinctions. Our classrooms have remained places where differences are celebrated and global citizenship is practiced every single day.

We’ve navigated industry-wide transitions, transformed learning environments, and weathered unprecedented global disruptions together, emerging with greater resilience, deeper empathy, and stronger academic foundations.

What’s ahead in the lead-up to 2027?

A 20-year milestone belongs to every teacher who guided a curious mind, every parent who trusted us with their child’s formative years, every staff member who keeps the institution going, every student currently studying at TRIO and every alumnus making an impact out in the world.

In the coming months, we will be sharing more stories from our early yearbooks, alumni journeys, reflections from founding educators and longstanding leaders and campus-wide celebrations leading directly into our official 20th-anniversary celebration.
