Trio World Academy is an authorized IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB DP). The ethos of Trio is in alignment with the philosophy, mission, and values of the IB. The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme balances academic advancement with complete development of a student’s personality. It promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional and ethical development of each student. It is independent of governments and national systems and therefore incorporates best practices from a range of international frameworks and curricula. It is a rigorous programme designed to enhance a student’s mastery of traditional subjects, including languages. Students who enroll for the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme will:

IB Diploma Subject requirements

The curriculum is divided into DP core and six subject groups. The core parts are Theory of Knowledge, extended essay, and creativity, activity, service (CAS). Student must take 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL) + Theory of Knowledge +EE+ CAS

  • 1 Language A (English literature and language)
  • 1 Language B
  • Mathematics
  • At least one experimental science
  • At least one social science
  • Sixth subject, which may be Visual Arts, a second experimental science or a second social science.

The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is a format of assessing student’s reflection and interpretation of the nature of knowledge. It is assessed through an oral presentation and essay.

The extended essay is a mandatory core component, that should be 4000 words long, submitted at the end of an independent and self-directed research process.

Creativity, activity, service (CAS) are practical and purposeful projects undertaken to create impactful outcomes. It encourages personal challenge, initiative, teamwork, planning, reviewing, reporting, reflection and so on.

Student need to choose one subject from each block.
